A synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, CAS 80714-61-0) combining the ACTH(4-7) fragment responsible for ACTH's behavioral and cognitive activity with a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro collagen-derived extension that confers resistance to aminopeptidase degradation. Rapidly upregulates BDNF and TrkB expression in the hippocampus and modulates serotonergic and dopaminergic signaling. Developed in the 1980s at the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of Molecular Genetics under Nikolai Myasoedov; registered in Russia for cognitive-ischemic conditions and on the country's list of Vital and Essential Drugs since 2011. Not FDA-approved.
