A synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly / AEDG, CAS 307297-39-8) developed by Vladimir Khavinson at the Saint Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology as the synthetic analog of epithalamin, a natural pineal-gland polypeptide. Reported in Russian preclinical and small clinical studies to activate telomerase and induce telomere elongation in somatic cells, and to normalize pineal-hypothalamic hormone rhythms. Studied for effects on melatonin secretion, reproductive-axis regulation, and lifespan in aged rodents. Not FDA-approved.
