Bacteriostatic Water

A sterile water solution preserved with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, used as the default diluent for reconstituting lyophilized research peptides. The benzyl alcohol inhibits microbial growth without killing existing cells, enabling multi-dose vials to stay usable for up to 28 days after first puncture. Not suitable for every peptide — benzyl alcohol destabilizes hCG and a handful of other compounds — but the standard choice for the vast majority of peptides sold by research vendors.
